Review by Sam Ko

Plays Mozart, the album by Popol Vuh Florian Fricke, is a beautiful interpretation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's works. The album features a collection of Mozart's pieces arranged and performed by the German band Popol Vuh, led by Florian Fricke.

The album opens with a serene and contemplative rendition of Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 11 in A Major, K. 331. The band's use of electronic and ambient sounds adds a new dimension to this classical piece, creating a dreamy and otherworldly atmosphere.

Throughout the album, Popol Vuh's interpretation of Mozart's works is both respectful and innovative. The band's use of synthesizers, percussion, and guitar creates a unique sound that blends seamlessly with Mozart's compositions.

One of the standout tracks on the album is the band's interpretation of Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, K. 550. The haunting melody of the symphony is enhanced by the band's use of percussion and synthesizers, creating a powerful and emotional listening experience.

About Popol Vuh Florian Fricke

Pioneers of German "krautrock" music, Popol Vuh was the creature of Florian Fricke (1944-2001). The first album "Affenstunde" (1970) is an early jaunt into electronic music with its massive use of the Moog synthesizer as well as added percussion. "In Den Gärten Pharaos" (1971) experimented with a fusion between electronic and organ sounds, creating an intense, almost religious ambient music. From "Hosianna Mantra" (1972) on, Popol Vuh abandoned the electronic medium to develop a personal avant-garde progressive rock music. Florian Fricke died in 2001 in his sleep.

Love this , Popol Vuh forever....
I have been searching for a free way to listen to this for some time now. Thank you. I think I will buy it.
Tks....grande Florian !!!
Oh only if you were alive. Great musician, Florian. He will be forever a legend.
Wow...okay,i dont like Mozart so much generally, but some pieces he composed were really beautiful...i like Satie,Beethoven,Tchaikowsky,Chopin and others more...but this is not about my taste, its about Fricke, and i knew he is as a studied classic piano player a real crack...some of the german krautrockers have the same background,im sure you know which i mean...Kraftwerk,Between,even Amon Düül 2 had members with that profession...the most left this space because they got bored to repeat others compositions ! Froese and Hamel started it in the late sixties...and before them others, you wouldnt believe, how much ! Therefore i got amazed hearing this, its a door into other spheres...and into the mind of this artists...they were not as the old generation told us,just mindless long haired idiots...without any talent...they were the new guard of inventors, intelligent, full of ideas and incredibly talented ! Good upload,indeed...interesting view over the world of music my friend ;)
That was an amazing movie...Kaspar Hauser is such a great story to tell...his troubled life...and its true,i still get emotional looking this historical movies of the destiny of this man...most have a beautiful soundtrack too, just as this one ! Fricke was kind of a philosopher, very sentimental and soulful, thats so fine to see if artists have that interests...he was a lot into buddhism and honored spirituality thats rare this days ! :)
