Review by Leanna Conley

The album Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Sonya Yoncheva, Karine Deshayes, and Ensemble Amarillis is a stunning masterpiece that showcases the true essence of classical music. The album features 12 tracks, each of which is a testament to the sheer talent and artistry of the performers.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful "Stabat Mater dolorosa," which sets the tone for the entire album. Sonya Yoncheva and Karine Deshayes deliver powerful and emotional performances that are complemented perfectly by the delicate and intricate instrumentation of Ensemble Amarillis.

Throughout the album, listeners are treated to a range of emotions, from the mournful and melancholy "Eia Mater, fons amoris" to the triumphant and uplifting "Inflammatus et accensus." The performers bring each track to life with their impeccable technique and passionate delivery.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Fac ut ardeat cor meum," which features a stunning duet between Yoncheva and Deshayes. Their voices blend together seamlessly, creating a truly magical and unforgettable performance.
