Review by Deborah Ballard-Reisch

Jonathan King's album "Everybody's Gone to the Moon" is a classic piece of British pop history. Released in 1965, it features the title track, which became a massive hit in the UK and the US. The album showcases King's talent as a songwriter and producer, with catchy melodies and clever lyrics that capture the spirit of the era.

The album starts with the upbeat "Round Round," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. King's vocals are smooth and confident, and the instrumentation is tight and energetic. The title track, "Everybody's Gone to the Moon," is a hauntingly beautiful song that captures the sense of alienation and loneliness that many people were feeling in the 1960s.

Other standout tracks include "I'll Give You My Love," a sweet and romantic ballad, and "Summer's Coming," a fun and upbeat song that captures the excitement of the season. King's production skills are also on display throughout the album, with layered harmonies, inventive arrangements, and a variety of instruments that add depth and texture to the songs.

Comments

This tune is haunting and definitely out of the boxft
The lyrics is the champion of this song, not the music, not the singer, not the video
JK was accused of being a pedo .
That means we must all NEVER listen to this song again and demand he be cancelled immediately!!!!
Classic tune
So beautiful...allway will love this song - so beautifully done by this man.....
When I hear this song I'm transported back to a poor, but happy childhood in the 60s Liverpool, even though we had the Beatles, this is one of my favourite songs.
Skeeter's, "Don't They Know It's The end Of The World, is my memories song. New ones just keep replacing the old ones.
Very disappointing as with MJ. With an open conscience before God I feel like a guilty hypocrite for continuing enjoying their stuff. Why is there persons who attractively sound or look so beautiful on the outside have an ugly horrible rotten dark side reality inside of them? It is very difficult to separate the same persons performing beautiful music or athletes who had legendary achievements from the very creepy ugly dark reality side of them all.
This song achieves sweet melancholy from the first note. Something about the song title hammers the reality of loneliness. But in a good way.
Is that savile in the beggining
Child molester
Good song. Too bad he is a perv.
Still as good today as it was when it first came out all those years ago
He discovered Genesis
Being 68 1/2 I was raised with this music and still love it!????
I was 6 years old when this song was released in 1965, i always loved the strings in songs and still do. ??
A snippet of this song played during the credits of “In the Shadow of the moon” & I have spent over an hour trying to find out the name and the singer. I thought it might have been early Bee Gees because the little I heard had a British feel to it. So glad I found it. The lyrics were truly ahead of their time in 1965. Beautiful & haunting.
if you listen to it more so .........its about ppl have everything but nothing in their soul or spirit about lonliness too how prophetic for today 2023
Great track.
Love it. It's haunting as you say. Probably listened to it over a hundred times. And I never get tired of it. Very popular in Sri Lanka
Didn't realize what a freak he was but the song is amazing part of my childhood.
Only I'd be dancing along to this tune nowadays euheuheuh!
This song always gets to my soul.
What a dumb song!
This should be the next Fallout theme song.
