Review by Pascal Lalonde

Arthur Rubinstein's rendition of Beethoven's Appassionata Y Pathétique Sonatas is a masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Rubinstein's virtuosity and passion are evident in every note he plays, and his interpretation of these two iconic works is nothing short of breathtaking.

The Appassionata Sonata, Op. 57, is a powerful and dramatic work that demands a pianist of Rubinstein's caliber. He handles the piece with ease, bringing out the contrast between the stormy first movement and the more introspective second movement. The final movement is a tour de force of technical skill and musicality, and Rubinstein's performance is nothing short of extraordinary.

The Pathétique Sonata, Op. 13, is one of Beethoven's most beloved works, and Rubinstein's interpretation is a testament to his understanding of the composer's intentions. He brings out the melancholy and passion of the first movement, and the second movement is played with a delicate touch that is both graceful and emotional. The final movement is a triumph of virtuosity, and Rubinstein's performance is nothing short of brilliant.
