The Battle of the Waikato, an album by Jerry Merito and The Howard Morrison Quartet, is a delightful collection of traditional Māori music that showcases the group's exceptional talent and cultural heritage. The album comprises of a mix of upbeat and slow-paced tracks that take listeners on a journey through the rich history and traditions of the Māori people.

The album begins with the upbeat and catchy track "Ka Mate Ka Mate," which is a popular Māori haka that is performed at sporting events. The quartet's rendition of the song is filled with energy and passion, making it a perfect opening track for the album.

The album then moves on to slower tracks such as "E Pari Ra," a classic Māori love song that has been popular for generations. The quartet's harmonies are beautiful and haunting, making the song a standout on the album.

Another standout track on the album is "Tutira Mai Nga Iwi," a song that celebrates the unity and strength of the Māori people. The quartet's rendition of the song is powerful and moving, with each member's voice blending together perfectly.

I got a bloody good laugh at the new verse of a well loved song ?
Still got it awesome ?
I am writing a book, don't know if it will get anywhere but it posits that Gerry Merito was the real star behind the quartet .... I am not a great writer and maybe not the best person to do so but even if I just collect research it is a start, anything to share??
Classic
Only in NZ - America would have sued - Russia would have shot him - many other places he would have just disappeared - magnificent comedian that he was - God must be having hysterics. Loved your humour Gerry
