Enzo Avitabile's album, Avitabile, is a brilliant fusion of Italian folk music, African rhythms, and avant-garde jazz. The album showcases Avitabile's impressive range as a musician and his ability to seamlessly blend different musical styles.
The opening track, "SudSud," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its infectious rhythm and catchy melody. The song features Avitabile's virtuosic saxophone playing and the driving percussion of his band.
"Black Out," another standout track, is a haunting ballad that showcases Avitabile's sensitive side as a composer and performer. The song features a beautiful duet between Avitabile's saxophone and the vocals of guest singer, M'Barka Ben Taleb.
Avitabile's collaboration with the Malian musician, Toumani Diabate, on the track "Sudan" is another highlight of the album. The song features Diabate's mesmerizing kora playing and Avitabile's soaring saxophone lines.
