Witch Vomit's latest release, A Scream From The Tomb Below, is a brutal assault on the senses. The Portland-based death metal band has crafted an album that is unrelenting in its intensity, with each track delivering a barrage of guttural vocals, thunderous drums, and shredding guitars.
The album's opening track, "Doomed in the Realm of the Dead," sets the tone for what's to come, with its ominous, slow-burning intro giving way to a ferocious onslaught of blast beats and tremolo-picked riffs. From there, the band doesn't let up, pummeling the listener with one skull-crushing track after another.
Despite the album's unrelenting brutality, there is a sense of craftsmanship and attention to detail that sets Witch Vomit apart from other death metal bands. The guitar work, in particular, is impressive, with intricate riffs and solos that add depth and complexity to the band's sound.
