If you were on board with the melodic, hard rock, guitar-driven sounds of the 80's... this album will light a smile on your party face! Glam? Yes. Nothing too original? Yes. Bon Jovi/Poison/Brittany Fox derivative? Yes. But, better than most 3rd generation 80's glam rockers...? YES!!! "Beat the Bullet" flows from opening guitar flutter to repetitive chorus that will follow you home humming for days. "Down for the 3rd Time," the title track, and "Laws Against Love" and "Whose Watching You" leave you feeling they have somewhere deeper to delve in their lyrics and music. If this band had hit five years earlier, they'd have a legacy in the line of Ratt, Dokken, Great White, etc. Sadly, they arrived too closely to the 80's hating 90's... and dressed for ridicule. Sadlly. their time had run out just as the flower was about to bloom. But, crank "Beat the Bullet" a few times and you'll be a fan for life, and wish the 80's lasted forever!

I was working at Tower Records in Mtn View when this album came out and I got a Promo copy of the tape. I have kept this in rotation ever since, in cd, mp3 or anyway i could keep it going. This is such a great album! I've tried to get into the rest of their catalog and they have some good things here or there but this album is a MUST have for sure!

I remember seeing this video on Headbanger's ball back when I was 16 or 17 years old and thought WOW! My BF and I had dreams of moving to West Hollywood in our teens so we could be part of it all. Looking back, thank God it never happened. We all know what would have happened and it wouldn't have been good! Glam was all about hot guys and fun lyrics (although with sexual and partying undertones) While I also love Nirvana and the Seattle scene, they pretty much ended "hair" music! Of course, I grew up with everyone else, but damn, the music still kicks ass and the guys are still hot af!

I remember the version of this song that was floating around in Nor Cal prior to this full studio version done by, I think, the same producer who worked with Queensryche. I always thought their original version was so much better and this version really messed up the bands chance at success as it sounded so....kind of mediocre.

I already listened Vain in end of 80's and when 80/90's changed. Those bands which would have deserved big success but that fuckin shit grunge came and destroyed good music everywhere.
