TuneYards - Hatari Remix

Review by Letizia Martinelli

TuneYards' latest album, Hatari Remix, is a bold and intriguing take on their previous work. The album features remixes of tracks from their 2018 album, I can feel you creep into my private life, by a range of artists including U.S. Girls, Cut Chemist, and Sal P. The remixes range from danceable to experimental, and the album as a whole offers a fresh perspective on TuneYards' already innovative sound.

The standout tracks on Hatari Remix include "Heart Attack (feat. Donn T.) [U.S. Girls Remix]," which transforms the original track into a funky, disco-inspired jam, and "Look at Your Hands (Sal P Remix)," which takes the original's infectious beat and adds a layer of hypnotic synths. The album's closing track, "ABC 123 (Moor Mother Remix)," is a haunting interpretation of the original, with Moor Mother's spoken word poetry adding an eerie element to the already unsettling lyrics.

Your a rebel in the ground. GRRAH GRRRAHH we all fall down!!!✊
God at 5:17 when the music changes and goes into the outro. I actually got goosebumps-it's really hard to experience them for me, it only happens once in a while. And in that outro, I get them. It's such the perfect ending for the song that doesn't make sense at all yet makes all the sense in the world. ughghh words can't describe the feelings tUnE-YaRdS evokes.
She is.... wow.
Thanks Mitchhhh! And you're right, that first riff is awesome :D
Actually heard this on Slacker Radio's "Vocal Hits" station. "Entrancing" is the word that comes to mind.
I first heard this about half an hour ago on KEXP, Seattle's "experimental" college programed radio station.  I was asleep...and this woke me up!  Imagine what I thought.  "What's wrong with my radio?"  "What's that noise?"  But I just laid there and listened.......and listened......and listened some more..and listened........... when it was "over,"  if that's the right description, the DJ came on and stated that when he first heard this, he thought that there was "too much going on."  And I said to myself,  yeah, exactly.....too much of the right stuff.
All with one damned voice recorder and Audacity. Where's your god now?
