Triumph's album Progressions Of Power Progresiones De Poder is a masterpiece of hard rock with a touch of progressive elements. Released in 1980, this album marked a significant milestone in the band's career, showcasing their musical prowess and songwriting skills. The album features nine tracks that are a perfect blend of heavy riffs, soaring vocals, and intricate guitar solos.

The opening track, "I Live for the Weekend," sets the tone for the rest of the album, with its catchy chorus and driving rhythm. Other standout tracks include "Nature's Child," "Hard Road," and "Tear the Roof Off," which all showcase the band's ability to craft memorable hooks and riffs.

One of the highlights of the album is the instrumental track "Interlude," which showcases the band's progressive leanings. The track features intricate guitar work from Rik Emmett and a dynamic rhythm section from Gil Moore and Mike Levine.

About Triumph

Triumph is a Canadian hard rock band that was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Eight of the band's albums were certified gold or higher, and Triumph was nominated for multiple Juno Awards, including Group of the Year Award in 1979, 1985, 1986 and 1987. Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga, Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early to mid 1980s. The band was formed by Toronto music veterans Gil Moore (drums, vocals) and Mike Levine (bass, keyboards, producer), after meeting guitarist, singer, songwriter Rik Emmett in a manager's office in Toronto in 1975. The band signed at RCA in 1978 and changed to MCA in 1984.

Comments

I often wonder if this one is autobiographical? It sounds entirely like Gil, and what I've heard about his early life. PoP is easily one of my top 3 Triumph albums; much underrated.
Nature's child is an explosive musical experience of a song, excellent time measures, put together like a puzzle, with fine poetry!
great song!
