A common occurrence when my parent's do the laundry is wondering where socks have gone. As mentioned in the song they'll cling to other clothes...sometimes when the clothes are being taken from the dryer a sock may fall back into the dryer unnoticed. I like the funky music...there's what I call a rubber band sound effect at certain points in the song...I'm assuming it's a synthesizer. Lee Roy Parnell is credited as a slide guitar player on the recording sessions of Ray's 1990 comedy album.

We all know it was the SOCK-A-SORE US. They don't have to get in the dryer to be eaten by the SOCK-A-SORE US. One shopping trip I thought I bought a set of 3 pair of little boy socks. When I took them out of the shopping bag, there were only 5 socks. The SOCK-A-SORE US shows up in many places, like gym lockers and suitcases. You'd think with those x-RAY machines at the airport, they could help keep track of a few socks.
