I played in a band from 75-78 with the bass player, Ben Russell and we are still friends. Our band was called Showboat, and we called our music Narcotic Soul music. We were more of a funk band. Ben still plays the same Gibson EBO bass he used on this record.
I knew Ben, the flutest. (And bassist) We played in a band called Spring Valley with Greg Kraus (G), Scott Likes(D) and myself (G). We played at Scott Air Force base near O'fallon IL because his family was stationed there.
Great Prog-Rock as fresh as yesterday. At first listening I thought about a Neo-Prog Band from nowadays. Couldn`t believe that this awesome record debuted in 1973.
Just the name thunder Pussy got my attention, but did the name hurt or help their success? People are so damn prejudice about everything!!! Better music than Yes!
