Sorry, I like the Isao Tomita version! more picturest than original version.
I was born in Arizona, and one of my first memories of my lifetime love for music is this exact suite. I remember the smell of the old stereo warming up with this album playing, and since I had been a regular visitor to the canyon since infancy, it was and is the perfect soundtrack. I got to hike to the Colorado River and back over four days in 1998, South Kaibab Trail down from the south rim, Bright Angel Trail back up to the south rim. Unforgettable music and place!
Positively Scriabinesque around 8 minutes in!
This is even MORE beautiful now, 60 years after first hearing this magic!!
tears......and more tears ?
Been in and at the bottom of Grand Canyon many times.
Grofe did WELL to capture it’s own heaven ?

The most beautiful thing I have seen in recent years. Absolutely marvelous. Thank you ever so much for posting this and if it’s your own work, I mean the photos, not the music, naturally; you are an artist. Thank you so much for this. I forwarded it to my sons and grandchildren.
SHOW SOME RESPECT FOR THE MUSIC! Everything doesn't have to be crammed full of ads.
a truly inspired masterpiece by Grofe.
i don't think erosion could have created the Grand Canyon by itself.
i think God's imagination was at work there.

wonderful pictures fantastically synchronized with the music. Many thanks.
Leonard Bernstein's rendition of the Grand Canyon Suite will always be the standard. I don't think there will ever be a better interpretation of Ferde Grofe's work. Every time I hear Sunset performed by the New York Philharmonic under his direction, tears start streaming down my face. I wish Bernstein was still alive to bless people with his genius.
I WILL BE GOING THIS SEPTEMBER 2022 ON ROAD SCOLOR TOUR
One of the most haunting memories of my childhood, our father took us to the movies and there was (among C. Chaplin silents) a short Disney documentary about the desert and... Oh my God that music... I was looking for this all my life since... It was 1975 or so... I am 53 now. Thank you. Thank you Juan.
Ferde Grofe` plauyed in Paul Whiteman's band when in Feb. of 1924 [in NYC's Aeloia n Hall] they debuted George Gershwin's "Rhapsody In Blue" with the composer himself at the keyboard! It caused quite a sensation in the musical world.
those piccolo skills are unmatched it's seriously so hard to play that fast, respecc 0:50
pretty rocks with pretty music... ROCK MUSIC LOL
I first heard this at the Gengres Planetarium in Hartford when I was about 6 or 7, and was totally hooked -- just absolutely mesmerized by it.

Great performance but the pictures are way to heavily processed and kitchy. Less would have been more.
A USB port to a giant television. With surround sound. And Topographic Oceans. And Mother Earth below. And a joint.
Impresionantes imágenes, y fantástica pieza de F. Grofé, y la magnifica dirección de L. Bernstein..¡¡¡
What sort of Ignorant Philistine votes thumbs down on this?
It's July 4th, 2018. Let's see and hear "something beautiful."
that opening motif brings to mind Tom & Jerry
Very enjoyable.
