This release and recording is as If I was there...and love her singing and the way she interacted with the audience. I am so happy to have this in my collection. She is a world treasure.

Gilbert O’Sullivan is Just great!
My favorite singer, Petula Clark, from my childhood in the 1960’s and continuing today - She’s simply wonderful! I love many of her songs, but Downtown remains my favorite from childhood, and I Couldn’t Live Without Your Love is a more recent favorite of favorites because it brought me cheer and has brought many tears as well. The Paris Olympia performance of the song sealed it to my heart and was the song I’d sing to my cat Leo, not knowing he was coming down ill and would die a month later. I took him in as my own even though he didn’t want it since he was abandoned as a Bengal kitten in a bad neighborhood. He fell sick that winter so I took him to the vet and kept him as my own; he wasn’t chipped and no one placed ads for a missing or lost cat. He was about 9 months old and passed away at 4.5 years old last May. His illness was a fairly rare disease which caused his bone marrow to stop producing good blood cells. Gradually he worsened, and I hoped my continuing to sing to him, as was my habit, would bring him back to good health. The vet did all they could, but he passed, and I still get tears when I hear the song. I never knew I could grow so attached to a cat via songs, and through that, I‘ve also grown to appreciate, even love, Petula for who she is and all of her songs. I look forward to having a copy of the new release, and perhaps to meet her in person some time, though that is more likely a dream to remain a dream.
