Percy Faith And His Orchestra - The Music Of Brazil

Review by George Alex

The Music of Brazil, performed by Percy Faith and His Orchestra, is a stunning tribute to the rich and vibrant musical traditions of Brazil. From the opening track, the listener is transported to the streets of Rio de Janeiro, where the sounds of samba and bossa nova fill the air.

Faith and his orchestra do an excellent job of capturing the essence of Brazilian music, with lush arrangements that showcase the beauty and complexity of the genre. The album features a mix of classic Brazilian songs and original compositions, all of which are performed with precision and passion.

Standout tracks include "The Girl from Ipanema," which features a sultry saxophone solo, and "Carnival," a lively and energetic tune that captures the spirit of Brazil's most famous celebration. Throughout the album, Faith and his musicians demonstrate a deep understanding and appreciation for Brazilian music, making this a must-have for fans of the genre.

Do you remember all the beautiful and provocative album covers?
To Jay Bacchus - this sort of music I'm happy to say is coming back, and there are even light music societies out there devoted to its preservation for future generations.
A truly masterful arrangement of a wonderful instrumental.  The images included are a perfect match to this exotic song.  Thanks so much for sharing!
Percy Faith was an arranging genius of the last century, Rammosil. Right up there, seated in the same pantheon with Mancini, Nelson Riddle and Arthur Fiedler. But you already know that.

Doncha' feel sorry for this current generation of texters and rappers who will never be exposed to this gorgeous stuff? Most of them would simply laugh if they knew we were listening to it and enjoying it so much. 'Syrupy elevator music for incontinent old folks!'
