Comments
This is when everyone was musically copying The KLF
Christopher Lee was like an back up singer in some Rock and heavy metal songs
This is not an original....It is a mix that was made 'to appeal to the club audience'....The poem was written by Peter Kayne..There was so much 'excitement' with the making of 'No White Peaks;- recorded in the studios in Canterbury. Personally I believe it should have been kept just simple with the pure and powerful message. As the 'boys' sounded my voice out - This started with looking through Peters song lyrics at my home and saying 'this message' must be put out there now and they took over. Peter Cushing is extraordinary true gentleman I was most blessed to meet and have quality one to one time with a cup of tea and heart to heart at his home. I asked him what he thought about the 'club version' - Peter thought it was amusing to appeal to a club audience then it was suggested to be released as 'white label'....Sometimes the ego blinds or lust for great wealth - evidently undermining the value of Peter and what he wanted. Anyway the original is on youtube somewhere...Peter did this eager to spread the message of peace in our world. Thank you for uploading this..I no longer have the digital master or digital dat and unfortunately not in a position to review re-recording..It is meant to be as it is. The studios 'and boys' have copes of the original works ..I have the treasured memories.
I know this tune from the 1990s and I think it works well with Peter's recital.
I remember reading that Cushing ' understood ' the appeal of dance, techno etc. music He said he thought the music was almost tribal and thus why they liked it.
the unholy trinity,CUSHING,LEE &PRICE all at some time have had a go at music but too most parts these are obscure and rarely found, but the lords of the dark movies never let themselves down, because their diction is always spot on and there is no mistaking their voices, make a few bob on the side well done boys
This is probably the first time I have really sat down and listened to this track! Back in the early 1990's when the Atari ST and Amiga were still king of gaming there was an attempt to make a magazine but on VHS tape. It was called "Click" and only two issues were ever made. I bought these two back in the day. On the second issue there was a feature about using the Atari ST for music with a chap called Andrew T Mackay. He was the writer/producer of this weird track afaik. He played a snippet of it on the interview.
I can barely hear the reading over the music! Boo!
It has been re-recorded...or rather inserted into other music...twice more that I know of and it's better than this with the inappropriate music.
