Heidi, the eighth studio album by Dutch rock band Normaal, is a lively and entertaining collection of songs that showcase the band's signature blend of rock, blues, and country. Released in 1985, the album features 11 tracks that range from upbeat and catchy to introspective and emotional.
The opening track, "Heidi", is a rollicking country-rock number that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Lead singer Bennie Jolink's distinctive gravelly voice is in full force as he sings about a girl named Heidi who brings joy and happiness to everyone around her. Other standout tracks include "Doe Normaal", a hard-hitting rock anthem that urges listeners to be true to themselves, and "Vrouw Haverkamp", a bittersweet ballad about a woman who longs for a simpler life.
