Frank Ifield (born 30 November 1937, Coundon, Coventry, England) is an English-born Australian easy listening and country music singer known for his yodeling vocal style. His family emigrated to Australia in 1946. He returned to the UK in 1959 and in 1962 he had a major success with the song "I Remember You". Throughout the 1960's he had a succession of hits which were mainly revivals of American country songs. Inducted into the Australasian Country Music Roll of Renown (2003).

This tune was a big hit when I was around 15. While vacationing I met this lovely young lady and we walked down the beach to a amusement park, hand in hand,. She was from Braintree MA., and I was from CT. We had a wonderful innocent night together, Took pictures in a photo booth and walked hand in hand back along the beach. I don't
remember her name. but I am 75 today and after all those years, I have to say, it was one of the most romantic moments of my life .We drove home and this tune was on the radio, and all I could only think of her. One of my favorite memories.
The Beatles backed Ifield and did an album with him just before they got big...

I sang this song to my precious husband, MSGT Verl L. King USAF Ret, as he was dying in July 2020.
We shared 47 years of devotion to each other. He is in the Fort Leavenworth National Military Cemetery in Kansas. God bless him.
