At the suggestion of Columbia Records, the material removed from "I AM..." comes out a few months later as a follow-up to further monetize. However, Nas decides to record the new tracks to the last moment, poor choice.Now, recently a trend has emerged between reviewers and critics retrospectives, aimed at positively re-evaluating "NASTRADAMUS". It's time to stop it, it's NOT funny. This album is surely the weakest in Nas' discography.Nas become prophet in his last artistic evolution, splitting himself again between conscious and gangsta songs, not being able to separate too long from the hood - the cover, the only successfully thing on this CD, proves it: it's fourth and last time in which he appears with QB projects in the background - and sometimes tryina back to mafioso mood without Esco: ends up to be not cohesive, e.g. "New World", the only one that really deals with what should be the main topic, prophecy, ironically seems just a passable filler, helped by Toto's "Africa" sample. His rapping skills are wasted on a record undermined by shameful pieces: rare decent lyrics ("Some of Us Have Angels", "Project Windows") are annulled by haughty and improper productions and vice versa. The album has no highlights, there are a good verse in "Life We Chose", a sharp verse to Jay-Z in "Come Get Me" by Premier, and in "Last Words" Nas tries to replicate "I Gave You Power" personifying a prison cell. In the second part, "NASTRADAMUS" gets completely bogged down with some of the worst tracks in his discography, "Big Girl"
