Liszt At The Opera V is a breathtakingly beautiful album that showcases the incredible talent of pianist Leslie Howard. The album features a collection of Franz Liszt's most famous and beloved opera arrangements, all expertly performed by Howard.
From the opening notes of "Norma, S.394," it is clear that Howard is a master of his craft. His playing is precise and powerful, yet also delicate and nuanced. He brings out the intricate details of Liszt's arrangements, highlighting the composer's genius.
The album includes several highlights, such as "Don Pasquale, S.419," which features a lively and energetic performance from Howard. "Rigoletto, S.434" is another standout track, with Howard delivering a haunting and emotional rendition of the famous aria.

Died: July 31, 1886, Bayreuth, Germany.
Franz Liszt was a Hungarian composer, virtuoso pianist, conductor, music teacher, arranger, organist, philanthropist, author, nationalist and a Franciscan tertiary. He was a renowned performer throughout Europe, noted especially for his showmanship and great skill with the piano. To this day, he is considered by some to have been the greatest pianist in history. Liszt's musical invention went into territories which were then almost unexplored, in particular as regards harmonic research, as emerges from the late piano works, which led him to anticipate fragments of harmonies from the early twentieth century.
