Led Zeppelin - Bertha Blues

Review by Joël Delrue

Bertha Blues, the latest album by Led Zeppelin, is a masterpiece of blues rock that showcases the band's exceptional musicianship and songwriting skills. With its gritty and raw sound, the album captures the essence of the blues and infuses it with the band's signature style.

The album opens with the title track "Bertha Blues", a slow burning blues number that sets the tone for the rest of the album. It features Jimmy Page's searing guitar work and Robert Plant's soulful vocals, which perfectly complement each other. The song builds to a crescendo with John Bonham's thundering drums and John Paul Jones' groovy bass lines.

Other standout tracks on the album include "Nobody's Fault But Mine", a hard-hitting blues rocker with a catchy chorus and a killer guitar solo, and "Black Dog Blues", a bluesy take on the band's classic hit "Black Dog". The album also features a beautiful acoustic ballad called "Since I've Been Loving You", which showcases Plant's emotive vocals and Page's delicate fingerpicking.

I was present and witnessed this concert ... We had never heard (or yet even heard of) "Physical Graffiti" - so the three songs from that album were unexpected and fantastic!!! The most mind-blowing was, of course, "Kashmir" - I had NO IDEA they had a song such as this, and it immediately became (and remains) my favorite song!!! But the entire concert was incredible - as was the one in 1973 ... Unfortunately, 1977 (in St. Louis) not so much (oh well) ...
57:28 is that bonham yelling in the background?
At the legendary St. Louis Arena! I had this boot on a CD for years, great to see it here. Black Dog is tops
coming to the phenomenon that is liriodendron a bit late . very fortunate to have a number of winston and dadgad remasters . got three by liriodendron , memphis , southhampton and earls court , recently . am very keen to acquire more of his titles . can you send me the link for st louis ? would you also have the following titles 73 compilation , baton rouge , fort worth ( 75 and 77 ) long beach san diego all 75 and frankfurt 1980 . meanwhile going back to playing southhampton
4 musicians that were vastly different that when playing together created a fifth element which is Led Zeppelin.
I always felt that this night featured the greatest NQ of all time. Simply amazing work by all 4 members of the band... ?
Love Bonham's' "whole lotta love" on timpani!
Oh esteemed LZBoots… might you kindly be able to make a download link available? This show’s sound quality is impeccable - you can hear every note and nuance in Sick Again, which seems a bit rare for this era.

Kashmir 46 min! I swear there was a light show! But everything I read said they didn’t do light show….anyone remember?
Awesome, thanks as ever, Boots.
So cool listening to this video! Saw them in 71 and 75 in St. Louis!
These Liriodendron remasters are by far the best. The 1973 tour compilation is incredible. Thanks Boots and please have Lirio remaster a 1971 show :)
This is probably one of the best performances of this early 75 rendition of the No Quarter solo, especially JPJ sounds terrific
Acapulco Gold !
Robert sounds a bit gruff, then again, he probably partied a little too hard the night before.
Favorite version of No Quarter, hands down
Joe crowley needs love everybody!
I thought the Stairway case was done in favor of LZ. Still locked down?
After plant was laid up for a couple days sick as a dog. Prob his worse stretch of the tour, but March things started to clear up for him
Incredible!! They are the greatest. It has to be an official release!
Sounds like shit
One of the better 75 shows, crisp sound!
I was at this concert. Fantastic show!! One of life's greatest experiences.
If Page sounds a bit off it's because he had a sprained finger on his left fretboard hand due to a revolving door accident. I was at the Pittsburgh show 15 days earlier than this concert and he was REALLY struggling then. He had a bottle of Jack Daniels on his amp to kill the pain. Dazed & Confused was skipped during the Pittsburgh concert.
