Explosive, frenetic, simply fantastic.
Anyone know the name of the quote from around 2:36? I've heard the melody before but forget the name
3:43 ???
有りそうで無かった巨人二人の共演??カッコいい?
Long Tall Dexter the Biggest Influence On Coltrane. The Little Giant! Rest In Power Kings.
I was there for this concert. It was non-stop great music.
Ten years earlier in the "JAZZLAND' club Paris. With Art Taylor,Rene Utreger,Alby Culaz. Speak now or forever hold your peace........
The degree to which Dexter was consistently both off the cuff yet completly coherent logical lyrical and humourous is astounding. Griff is scary top of his game too geez. Oh man they both start riffing on " anything you can do I can do better" while trading 4s?
Besides the two tenor giants, what a cooking kitchen -- George, Rufus and Eddie swing as hell! Thank you!
Where in Gods name did you get this most exquisite taste in music, Dexter Gordon is a God, how did you come to this level of knowledge,...............this is incredible..........
I had to pause...and take a break...get some water.....damn!
Thank god for the tenor sax. heard these guys when young at Ronies place along with Getz and the lovely Tubby .This is heaven.
It's amazing to hear how in tone, tonguing and musical ideas these to giants share so many similarities. Two superb giants of the Tenor sax.
The rhythm section keeps Dex nd Johnny going stronger and stronger.
I was lucky enough to catch LTD at the Vanguard in the early eighties . About midway through the second set Griff strolled on down the steps . They ended up playing this tune and it was on! Two very bad men!!!! MIND FULLY BLOWN !!!!!
A SWINGIN AFFAIR !!!!! (-_-) #JAZZ
Gladdens bass-bombs are....OMG
10:22 Moose the Mooche
