About Ivan Kozlovsky Иван Козловский
Ivan Semyonovich Kozlovsky (19001993) was a Soviet and Russian lyric tenor and one of the most well known stars of Russian opera. Kozlovsky gave many concerts throughout the Soviet Union, singing Russian and Ukrainian songs and romances, as well as German lieder by Schubert, Schumann, and Liszt. He also appeared in the films Cossacks Beyond the Danube (1937) and Boris Godunov (1954), as well as in the documentary film Ivan Semenovich Kozlovskiy (1978).
Kozlovsky was also a producer and director of his own opera company, and longtime teacher at the Moscow Conservatory.
There are many variations of his name including: Иван Козловский in Russian, and Ivan Kozlovskiy or Kozlovskij in English.
