Fritz Kreisler - Plays Encores

Review by Lila Vak

Fritz Kreisler's album "Plays Encores" is a delightful collection of short pieces showcasing the violinist's virtuosity and musicality. Recorded in the 1930s, the album captures Kreisler's refined and expressive playing, as well as the charm and elegance of the music he chose. The album includes popular works by composers such as Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, and Chopin, as well as Kreisler's own compositions, which are full of lyrical melodies and graceful ornamentation. The recording quality is surprisingly good for its age, and the remastering has preserved the warmth and clarity of Kreisler's tone. "Plays Encores" is a delightful reminder of Kreisler's artistry and the golden era of classical music.
