Review by Craig Behrens

Faun's album "I Asked My Mother Better Dig What You Find" is a captivating journey through a variety of musical styles and cultures. The German band seamlessly blends medieval and folk influences with modern elements, creating a sound that is both unique and timeless.

The album's opener, "Buntes Volk," sets the tone with its upbeat rhythms and catchy melodies. From there, the band takes listeners on a musical tour of Europe, with songs like "Sirena" and "Rosmarin" drawing inspiration from Spanish and Italian folk music, respectively.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Tanz mit mir," a hauntingly beautiful ballad that showcases the band's skillful use of acoustic instruments and intricate vocal harmonies. "Cuncti Simus" is another highlight, featuring a soaring chorus that will have listeners singing along in no time.

About The Faun

Faun were a late 1960's studio project featuring George Tickner and Ross Valory (both ex-Frumious Bandersnatch). These two were later in the original line-up of Journey. According to the liner notes, the album seems to trip backward and forward through time&a unique blend of pop, jazz, 1930's swing and the classics."
