About DJ Milton

Ghetto house DJ/producer on the Dance Mania roster, currently incarcerated in Illinois. After numerous releases and mixtapes, Milton moved from Chicago to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in the late 1990s. (This is referenced in the title of the 1998 release "Chi To Da I".) He released "Get That Cash" while in Iowa as well. On a return trip to Chicago in 2000, Milton was arrested for the murder and kidnapping of people who allegedly were connected to the theft of his van and equipment prior to his Iowa move. On the day of the crime, Lolita Sierra and Patrick Banks went to M.C. Jones' apartment to buy crack cocaine. On the way there, Banks stole disc jockey equipment from a vehicle and carried it into M.C.'s apartment. The equipment was sold from M.C.'s apartment. Banks returned to the apartment with six bags of crack that he received in exchange for the disc jockey equipment. M.C. smoked the crack with Jones and Sierra in his apartment. Following a jury trial, Milton was convicted of one count of first-degree murder (of Patrick Banks, who he reportedly threw out of an upper-floor window) and two counts of aggravated kidnapping (of Lolita Sierra and M.C. Jones). He was sentenced to a total of 37 years' imprisonment -- 25 years' imprisonment for murder and six years' imprisonment for each count of aggravated kidnapping, all sentences to run consecutively.
