Chemical Breath - Brutal Violation

Review by Patrick Allmond

Chemical Breath's album Brutal Violation is a fierce and unrelenting display of thrash metal mastery. With a blend of punishing riffs, lightning-fast drumming, and guttural vocals, the Belgian band delivers a sonic assault that is both intense and satisfying.

From the opening track "Dehumanize" to the closing number "Bury the Hatchet," Chemical Breath never lets up on the aggression. The guitar work of Yannick De Pauw and Tom Van Laere is particularly impressive, with intricate solos and blistering thrash rhythms that will leave listeners headbanging in approval.

Meanwhile, drummer Olivier Coppens and bassist Dries Van Damme provide a solid foundation for the band's thrash onslaught, keeping the pace fast and furious throughout the album.

Lyrically, Brutal Violation deals with themes of violence, corruption, and societal decay, with songs like "Bloodstained World" and "End of Days" painting a bleak picture of the world we live in. However, the band's message is ultimately one of empowerment, urging listeners to rise up against oppression and fight for a better future.
