- About Me: Our Purpose and Origins The Multi-Faith Centre (MFC) exists to facilitate inter-faith dialogue as a method of cultivating mutual understanding and respect within British communities. The Centre is a shared space where people are invited to speak freely and fearlessly. The original idea emerged from a coming together of local Baha'i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh communities alongside the University of Derby. Our aims The centre is currently involved in providing a number of courses supporting training and awareness raising. 2012 will see the continuation of the centres award winning training programme, 'Religious Diversity and Anti-Discrimination', alongside a new series of workshops tackling 'Islamophobia' (supported by Awards for All). Phil Henry, our Centre Director, has resolved to focus on high profile events, projects and conferences of regional and/or national significance. In parallel to this, the MFC maintains a network of local "ambassadors" continues to work to strengthen connections with all parts of the local community.
