The ZaSu Pitts Memorial Orchestra was formed in San Francisco by Stephen Ashman, a bass-player. They released several LPs in the 1984-1987 time period and continue to be active. The Orchestra did not have any overt connection to ZaSu Pitts beyond the name.

rocksteady beibee..i dont remember the name,,,blue dress...and rocksteady??
Early 1980's this was the band to see in SF. Where ever they played the amount of folks there to see them was amazing. Cool fact about them, they played non stop until their break. You were a sweating fool by the end of each set.
Best party band ever!
I remember them well from early 80s. Killer band. Yes, by the end of the night, you were exhausted from dancing non stop.
Greatest band out of SF ever.
