Wish You Were Here, the fourth studio album by Haitian-American rapper Wyclef Jean, is a tribute to the human experience. Released in 2004, the album features a diverse range of musical styles, from hip-hop to reggae to rock, and is a reflection of Jean's global influences.
The album's opening track, "The Industry," sets the tone for the rest of the album by addressing the commercialization of the music industry. Jean's lyrics are introspective and thought-provoking, and his delivery is impassioned.
The album's standout track is "Party to Damascus," a collaboration with legendary reggae artist, Missy Elliott. The song's infectious beat and catchy chorus make it a perfect party anthem, while Jean and Elliott's playful verses showcase their lyrical prowess.
Wish You Were Here also features several politically charged tracks, such as "President," which criticizes the Bush administration's handling of Hurricane Katrina, and "Baby Daddy," which addresses the issue of absent fathers in the African-American community.

About Wyclef Jean
Wyclef Jeanelle Jean (/ˈwaɪklɪf ˈʒɑːn/; Haitian Creole pronunciation: ; born October 17, 1969) is a Haitian American rapper, singer, record producer, and politician. At age nine, Jean moved to the United States with his family and has spent much of his life in the country. He first received fame as a member of the acclaimed New Jersey hip hop group the Fugees.
On August 5, 2010, Jean filed for candidacy in the 2010 Haitian presidential election, although the Electoral Commission subsequently ruled him ineligible to stand as he had not met the requirement to have been resident in Haiti for five years.
