When I studying music in college, my piano teacher RAVED about William Kapell. He showed me one of his records. Now, I see and hear why he praised him so. His execution, technique, and phrasing were impeccable! So sad he died so young in an airplane crash. What a loss!
So sad he died so young. We would be now among the greatest ones such as Horowitz, Richter, Solomon, Cziffra, Would, Argerigh, Brendel... just to mention some of them...
As good or better than all before or after him.TY k for posting.
William Kapell was the reincarnation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
THIS MAN.
A seldom mentioned artist deserving a better appreciation! Bravo! TY.
Thank you for that. A friend of mine in Melbourne was at his last concert there. He'll be glad to hear these new recordings.
The best of them all, what a terrible loss.
Thanks for this, i love WK s playing
There are the legendary AUstralian recordings but we have not heard anything about them recently. I hope they come to something.
In this age of image and marketing, all of us could benefit from listening and learning from William Kapell, one of the true artists of our time and one of my musical heroes. In 31 short years, he gave us so much. Thank you so much for this treasure.
