Review by Mohammad

The Tommy Original Soundtrack Recording by The Who is a masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Released in 1969, this album is a musical adaptation of the rock opera, Tommy, which was written by Pete Townshend.

The album features some of the most iconic songs of the 60s, including "Pinball Wizard," "I'm Free," and "See Me, Feel Me." The music is a blend of rock, pop, and classical music, with powerful vocals and intricate instrumentals.

The album tells the story of a deaf, dumb, and blind boy who becomes a pinball champion and a spiritual leader. The themes of the album revolve around self-discovery, enlightenment, and the search for meaning in life.

The production quality of the album is excellent, and the songs flow seamlessly from one to the other. The album has a timeless quality that has made it a favorite among generations of music lovers.

Comments

Brings back so many memories, I watched this movie well over 50+ times oh the joys of youth and of course The Who.
Here the overture track not found on the album. Enjoy https://youtu.be/gCTeh8avZQI
Sorry, to many adds for my like. Waste of a good album. Great albums shouldn't have adds.
This movie is the reason why I was the only black kid on my block who loved rock music!!!!

Trilha original do filme! ?
Correction to my last comment: I meant to write "I wonder if somebody can explain WHY it isn't identical..."
Piet, so glad you posted the original 1975 recording here! I bought the double album in 1977, and I wish I still had it. I listened to the remastered version on Itunes recently, and I wonder if somebody can somebody explain it isn't identical to the original 1975 version. I understand adding the Overture and the expanded "Sensation" (I prefer the 1975 soundtrack version), but I don't understand why all the songs from side 4 are slightly different recordings---alternate takes or re-recordings? At least they didn't mess with the songs from sides 1 through 3, which were always my favorites anyway. :)
Peter Townsend = Musical Genius. This soundtrack will live on long after Man has vanished from The Earth. Thanks for posting.
Unexpectedly it has turned out to be the soundtrack to COVID.
Eu tinha 11 anos quando fui ver o filme com minha mãe. Amei e hoje aos 56 anos continuo a amar essa grande obra atemporal do genial Pete.
