Review by Safim Ricardo

The BPRC 10 Benefit CD, If I Can't Dance It's Not My Revolution, is an eclectic collection of tracks from various artists. The album is a tribute to the Black Panther Party's 10-point program and is meant to raise awareness and funds for the Black Panther Research Collective.

The album features a diverse range of genres, including hip-hop, soul, funk, and spoken word. Each track showcases the artist's unique style and interpretation of the Black Panther Party's message.

One standout track is "Revolutionary Love" by poet and activist Staceyann Chin. Her powerful spoken word piece is a call to action for social justice and equality. Another notable track is "Panther Power" by hip-hop artist Dead Prez, which features a catchy beat and thought-provoking lyrics about the Black Panther Party's legacy.

Notes

During the night of the 24 th of November 2002 ten activists occupied the headquarters of the B.P.R.C. in Rijswijk. The activists locked themselves in the building as a protest against animal testing carried out on the premises. They were duely evicted and arrested. Following the guilty verdict they were ordered to pay damages to the BPRC of 20.000 euro. 20,000 euros remains a large sum therefore we hope to assist through the release and sale of this CD.
