Various - American Festival Folk Blues

Review by Rebecca Campbell

American Festival Folk Blues is a compilation album featuring various artists who have made significant contributions to the folk and blues music scene. The album is a treasure trove of classic tracks that showcase the rich cultural heritage of American music.

The album's opening track, "St. James Infirmary" by Snooks Eaglin, sets the tone for what's to come. The song's haunting melody and Eaglin's soulful vocals are a perfect introduction to the world of folk blues. Other standout tracks include "Parchman Farm Blues" by Bukka White, "Sittin' on Top of the World" by Mississippi Sheiks, and "Trouble in Mind" by Lightnin' Hopkins.

Jake, the sign says "Tonight Only, The Good Ol Boys."

Blues Brothers! It's supposed to say "Tonight Only, The Blues Brothers Triumphant Return!"

This is travel music I remember long road trips listening to as a kid. The adults had ice cold beer and cigarettes . Kids had choice of sandwiches, fried chicken and salad w plenty of soda and gallons of water. Moms and Pops each had fully loaded 38 specials...and that 76 Cadillac Sedan Deville road like floating on air. Seems like no technology was better....because people went outside and enjoyed life and each other.
Good ole southern blues
The name of the place .... is .... uuuhhh .... Bob's Country Bunker. Here we are.
Houston. Liberty Star bar. Him & Lightning Hopkins 1975. Our car died & we hitchhiked.
