Review by Matthew Ottignon

The Unspoken Word, a self-titled album by the band Unspoken Word, is a masterpiece of psychedelic rock. Released in 1969, this album is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition. The band, which was formed in New York City in 1966, consisted of musicians who were deeply influenced by the counterculture movement of the time.

The album features nine tracks that are a perfect blend of psychedelic rock, jazz, and blues. The opening track, "Tuesday, April 19th," sets the tone for the album with its intricate guitar work and haunting vocals. The second track, "And It's True," is a bluesy number that showcases the band's versatility.

The album's standout track is "Requiem for a Fish," a 10-minute psychedelic epic that takes the listener on a journey through a dreamlike landscape. The track features swirling guitars, ethereal vocals, and a hypnotic rhythm section.

Other notable tracks include "Where Are We Going?" and "The Door," both of which feature intricate guitar work and poetic lyrics.
