Univers Zero's album, The Hard Quest, is a mesmerizing and complex work of art that is sure to captivate any listener. The band's unique blend of avant-garde rock and classical music creates a truly original sound that is both challenging and rewarding.
The album opens with the haunting "Shaking Hats," which sets the tone for the rest of the record. The intricate instrumentation and unconventional time signatures are a hallmark of Univers Zero's style, and they are on full display throughout The Hard Quest.
Tracks like "Suintement" and "Falling Rain Dance" showcase the band's virtuosic musicianship, with intricate guitar and keyboard solos weaving in and out of each other. The album also features some of the band's most experimental work, such as the disorienting "Partch's X-Ray" and the eerie "The Invisible Light."

About Univers Zero
Founded in Brussels, Belgium in 1974. Disbanded in 1987 and reformed in 1999.
Univers Zéro are to be associated with progressive rock and the undisputed creators of the genre known as 'chamber rock'. Getting their inspiration from such diverse sources as rock, jazz, European folk and classical music (both ancient and modern), they have forged a distinctive sound as well as influencing a vast number of contemporary avant-garde bands and ensembles.
The band was formed in 1973 by drummer and trumpeter , with the original name of Necronomicon - though this was changed to Univers Zéro (after a book by Belgian novelist Jacques Sternberg) in 1974. At the time, their music was strongly influenced by electric jazz, though this changed when (reeds) joined the band.
