The album McGonagles Dublin Ireland by U2 is a nostalgic tribute to the band's early days playing at the famed Dublin venue. The album takes listeners on a journey through U2's early sound, with raw, energetic performances of classic songs like "Out of Control" and "Stories for Boys." The band's signature sound is on full display, with Bono's emotive vocals soaring over The Edge's intricate guitar work and the tight rhythm section of Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. The album captures the energy and excitement of U2's early years, and fans of the band's early work will find much to enjoy here. McGonagles Dublin Ireland is a must-listen for any U2 fan looking to experience the band's formative years.
Incomplete concert recorded live at the National Stadium, Dublin, February 26, 1980.
The complete National Stadium 17-song concert was radiobroadcasted in full by RTÉ 2, and the 8 songs are mislabeled presumably on purpose to be from one of the June 1979 McGonagle’s concerts played as part of the band residency there.
“Cartoon World” was officially released in 2008 on the Boy reissue.
This release is sourced from the Bono Works at McGonagles unofficial release.
