Sen, the latest album by Troum, is a mesmerizing and atmospheric journey through soundscapes that evoke a sense of contemplation and introspection. The German duo of Martin Gitschel and Stefan Knappe have crafted a sonic tapestry that blends elements of ambient, drone, and experimental music into a cohesive and immersive whole.

From the opening track "Ater" with its swirling drones and ethereal vocals, to the pulsating rhythms of "Eigi Einhamr," Sen takes the listener on a sonic journey that is both meditative and haunting. The use of field recordings and found sounds adds a layer of texture and depth to the music, creating an otherworldly atmosphere that is both beautiful and unsettling.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Nargis," which features a hypnotic guitar riff that is slowly enveloped by layers of shimmering drones and ghostly whispers. The track builds to a cathartic climax before slowly receding into silence, leaving the listener in a state of awe and wonder.

  • Comes in a unique semi-circular clear PVC gatefold wallet with a stickered inner 7" heavy PVC wallet housing 3 large circular double-sided satin-finished heavy card inserts, a sticker and sealed with a numbered oval sepia sticker. The gatefold, with two further stickers, is fastened with a Velcro button.
  • Limited edition of 217 hand-numbered copies.
  • Recorded 12.12.1999 at VPRO Radio 5 "De Avonden". Sen was performed from August to December 1999 at various places in Poland, Germany and the Netherlands.

  • "Sen", the 2nd Troum album, was originally released in the "Mort Aux Vaches" series as a CD in an edition of 600 copies in September 2000. It was recorded live in the studio in December 1999 in one take with no overdubs. For this vinyl re-issue the original track had to be cut into four pieces.

Troum is a duo located in Bremen, Germany, established in early 1997. The two members "Glitch" and "Baraka" were active before in the influential ambient industrial group which existed from 1988 to 1996. Troum is the old German word for "dream". The dream seen as a central manifestation of the unconscious symbolizes the aim of Troum to lead the listener into a hypnotizing dream-state of mind, a pre-verbal and primal consciousness sphere.
