Review by Kacee Enzor

Trio Raisner's album, Le Grisbi Le Rififi, is a captivating collection of jazz-infused tracks that will transport listeners to smoky Parisian cafes of the 1950s. The trio, comprising of accordionist Jo Privat, guitarist Henri Crolla, and drummer Maurice Vander, showcases their mastery of their instruments in each of the ten tracks on the album.

The album opens with the titular track, "Le Grisbi Le Rififi," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its sultry, laid-back melody. The trio's chemistry is evident in their seamless interplay, with each musician complementing the others' playing. Tracks like "J'ai deux amours" and "La vie en rose" showcase Privat's virtuosic accordion playing, while Crolla's guitar work shines on tracks like "C'est si bon" and "Que reste-t-il de nos amours."

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Les Feuilles Mortes," which features Vander's impeccable drumming and the trio's tight harmonies. The album closes with "Les Amants d'un jour," a hauntingly beautiful track that showcases the trio's ability to create a melancholic atmosphere.
