The album Transformation Of Piano ピアノの変換 by Toshiro Mayuzumi, Joji Yuasa, Yuji Takahashi, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Shinichi Matsushita is a masterpiece of contemporary classical music. The album features five Japanese composers who have made significant contributions to the development of avant-garde music in Japan.

The album consists of five pieces, each written by one of the composers. The pieces are distinct in their style and approach, but they all share a common theme of transforming the sound of the piano. The composers use various techniques such as prepared piano, extended techniques, and electronic manipulation to create a unique and innovative sound.

The first piece, "Concerto per il pianoforte e cinque strumenti" by Toshiro Mayuzumi, is a dynamic and energetic piece that showcases the virtuosity of the pianist. The second piece, "Projection Esemplastic for piano and tape" by Joji Yuasa, is a haunting and atmospheric piece that creates a sense of space and depth.

The third piece, "Like A Water Buffalo" by Yuji Takahashi, is a playful and rhythmic piece that uses prepared piano to create percussive sounds. The fourth piece, "Music for Living Space" by Toshi Ichiyanagi, is an experimental piece that uses electronic manipulation to create a surreal and otherworldly atmosphere.

私には、シュトックハウゼン(ドイツ)らの電子音楽をピアノ独奏で弾いたような響きがすると思えるのだが、実際にはどうなのだろうか。先鋭的で個性的な響きを感じる。
