Review by Kent Sanders

Ten In The Swear Jar's album, My Very Private Map, is a unique and captivating musical experience. The album features a blend of indie rock and folk influences, with hauntingly beautiful lyrics that draw the listener in. The band's talent is evident in the intricate instrumentation and the emotive vocals of lead singer Jamie Stewart.

The album opens with the track "The First Five," a hauntingly beautiful song that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The album continues with tracks like "The Garden," which showcases the band's ability to create complex and layered melodies, and "The Last Ten Homes," which features a stripped-down sound that highlights the raw emotion of the lyrics.

Notes

  • Original printings actually included a very private map with directions on it. The directions ultimately lead to a beautiful overlook near San Francisco. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge North. Exit Alexander, take immediate left towards Marin Headlands. Go under highway and turn right towards Conzelman. Go down the narrow one way road towards Pt. Bonita.
  • Park past Battery Wallace and walk through the first bunker behind you. Follow the footpath past the blue buildings to the Battery Mendel. Climb the footpath on the right side of the Battery. Follow the cliff path towards the radar tower (you will see the isle of pelican poo on your right) Go under the Tree of Ribbons, climb 17 steps.
