Styx - Why Me

Review by Cyrus Holiday

The album "Why Me" by Styx is a powerful and emotive collection of songs that showcases the band's versatility and skill. From the soaring melodies of "Love at First Sight" to the haunting balladry of "Borrowed Time," the album is a masterclass in rock and roll songwriting.

One standout track is "Why Me," a driving anthem that showcases the band's trademark harmonies and tight musicianship. The song is a perfect showcase for lead vocalist Tommy Shaw, whose soaring vocals and emotive delivery are the centerpiece of the track.

Another standout track is "Boat on the River," a haunting ballad that features a stripped-down arrangement and a beautiful, plaintive melody. The song is a testament to the band's ability to craft powerful, emotive songs that resonate with listeners on a deep level.

To paraphrase Christopher Walken "I need more Hair"
Awesome ?
First song on Side 1 of the first Styx album I bought. A great feeling to find it was as good as Babe and I'm Ok. :)
Those were the good old times
This is not a live recording. My friend swore that neither was their concert we attended. But this is blatant.
Stretched out to widescreen :(
If it has strings Tommy can play it
This entire album was phenomenal. Tommy’s voice gets far too little credit. I sure know that in 1980, I wanted to be Tommy Shaw.
Luv styx one of the best rock music in the whole world
Classic one!
What concrete is that
I love Styx and this song, but am I the only one who realizes that this is a live video but not live audio?
That's funny. They are unplugged and playing to the original track. You can hear the laughing and talking in the background around 3:02 that is on the original track. Too bad.
Precious Lights.....STYX at their prime.....it dont git to much better for me.....Rock n Roll.....thanx
I love everything about this song the Music, the Lyrics and Tommy Shaw's Great voice he is probably one of my favorite Singers.
Always great music ❤
• I remember buying this album • played it over and over • it's strange I remember every word • but haven't heard it really in years.
I das them in Munic 1980
Tommy is always so cute, and great talent. Styx is great and always will be.
Used to play this one back in the day
Tommy looks so good ?? He's the best
It was nice that Tommy was able to get leave from the Navy to shoot this. ;-)
I love seeing Tommy and JY having fun onstage, they will always be BFFS <3
this song is so great and one of styx's BEST underappreciated songs!!
this isn’t live
