About Stomp & Weaver

Stomp started out with his involvement in music at an early age, his father was no stranger to the music industry as he was in a band called the Amazing Blondel which was a well known Hippie band from the 70's. Stomp was brought up around the strange sounds of early analog synths and all sorts of wonderful gadgets his father had acquired for his home studio, so it seemed a natural progression for him to be involved in the music industry somehow. Stomp became very aware of electro in 1985 when he was at the age of 11. Danny used to go to Nottingham near Lincoln with older friends in the crusade of this futuristic music and lifestyle. They used to acquire mixtapes from Hysen Green Boys Club and the legendary Rock City where DJ's such as Masterscratch would pioneer this early American sound into a huge movement sweeping the North and the Midlands.Stomp decided he wanted to follow in Masterscratch's footsteps, so he got a friend to make him some turntables out of two old BSA turntables and a tape mixer. Stomp was not interested in school so much as a kid but instead new that one day he would play some roll in something he enjoyed doing, such as Music. By this time around about 1988 his younger brother Tom A.K.A. Weaver was beginning to show more of an interest in music and began to follow in his brothers footsteps down the same path. This in years to come would make them a strong team as producers as they could trust each others instincts and bounce ideas off of each other in the studio. In 1990 Stomp moved away from the Electro and Hip Hop thing and became more intrigued by what was going on there own doorstep the UK. The UK was changing fast from Acid house to the happy Monday's, big things were beginning to take place up North such as Warp records and Unique 3, there was a new sound coming out and Stomp wanted a piece off the action. Unfortunately for him he didn't have the cash at the time to setup his own studio By the early ninety's DJ Stomp started getting booked at all the Major raves up north such as Pure X, Plesurdome and Kinetic ,Stomp also started putting on nights with his brother and partner in crime Matt A.K.A. the Goat. After some time they managed to get enough money together to set up a small studio and started trying to make tracks the best they could with limited equipment. At around late 93 they started cutting there first Dubplates at a place in Birmingham where they bumped into people like DJ SS and Ratty. At first they were a bit embarrassed by their tracks as SS and Ratty had a bit of a head start on them and their mixdowns didn't sound quiet as good as these well etabilished players. Anyway they cutt their first plates it was a learning curve ( lol ). Soon after that they bumped into a young kid called Surreal in a club in kings Lynn called hyperbolic. They got chatting and Surreal liked there music and putt there first track out on his new label Rebellious record's. Stomp & Weaver then went on to get their first distribution deal and set up Lab Logic Records ,they put out 7 twelve's on Lab Logic and work started to come in from some bigger labels like Flex, Rinse Out and Hardleaders altogether they have put out over 30 releases and had some good review's and radio play from the likes of L Double , John Peel and Wilber Force at 1 in the Jungle. They are currently working on a lot of new material and will be releasing a whole lot of new stuff on some Quiet big labels in the future............................So watch this spacen
