Review by Lindsay McKenzie

The Downbeats have released their latest album, Someday She'll Come Along, and it's a soulful journey through love and heartbreak. The band's smooth vocals and expertly crafted instrumentals make for a captivating listening experience that is sure to leave fans feeling emotionally charged.

The album's title track, "Someday She'll Come Along," is a standout with its catchy chorus and heartfelt lyrics. The song is a hopeful ode to finding love and the anticipation of that special someone coming into one's life. Other tracks like "Fool for You" and "Lonely Nights" touch on the pain and vulnerability that often come with love and relationships.

Throughout the album, the Downbeats showcase their impressive musicianship with standout guitar solos and tight harmonies. The production quality is top-notch, allowing each instrument and vocal to shine through and create a cohesive sound.

About The Downbeats

Signed to Motown in the early Sixties, The Downbeats were an early incarnation of the mid-Sixties second tier Motown group . As the Downbeats, they were a male trio who struggled for success and attention during the early part of the decade, ending up with just two singles to show from five years of recording activity (most of the shelved archive material has thankfully since been issued). In 1965, all that changed when another long-time Motown straggler, vocalist , was drafted into the group as lead singer; the newly-configured Elgins (a name originally wanted by !) recorded several highly-regarded singles and an album, Darling Baby, released in 1966. The group broke up in 1967, but reformed in 1971 (with another new singer, ) when one of their old Motown singles unexpectedly cracked the Top 3 in Britain. Original members: Cleo Duke Miller, Robert Fleming, Johnny Dawson
