The Slackers - Peculiar

Review by Judy Mureithi

The Slackers have done it again with their latest album, Peculiar. The band's unique blend of ska, rocksteady, and reggae is on full display throughout the record's 12 tracks. The album opens with the upbeat and catchy "Blue," which sets the tone for the rest of the record.

One of the standout tracks is "Wrongful Suspicion," which features a soulful horn section and lead singer Vic Ruggiero's signature crooning vocals. The song's lyrics address the issue of police brutality and racial profiling, making it a timely and important addition to the album.

Other notable tracks include "Nobody's Listening," which features a groovy bassline and infectious chorus, and "The Boss," which showcases the band's ability to seamlessly blend different genres into one cohesive sound.
