Review by vich XIONG

Desmond Dekker & The Aces' album Israelites My Precious World The Man is a masterpiece of Jamaican ska and reggae music. The album features some of the most iconic tracks of the genre, including the title track "Israelites," "007 (Shanty Town)," and "Rudie Got Soul."

The album is a perfect showcase of Desmond Dekker's unique vocal style and his ability to infuse his music with social commentary and political messages. The Aces' backing band provides a solid foundation for the songs, with tight rhythms and catchy melodies that will have listeners dancing along.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "It Mek," which features a catchy chorus and a playful, upbeat rhythm. "Beautiful and Dangerous" is another highlight, with its haunting melody and powerful lyrics about the dangers of love.

Reminds me of when I was 13 back in the summer of 1968.
Fu Man Chu is a great record. Of the Desmond Dekker tracks I've heard, I think Keep A Cool Head is his most doo wop like
This is pretty much the greatest thing that ever happened.
If you want a weird reggae doo wop sound from Desmond Dekker check out "Fu Manchu".
I am aware that there's no H in Cris, but I always put it there. I guess it's instinctual on my part.
Lovely.croon it to me.
College days ❤️❤️
Any 2023 fans
I looooove it!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️????????????
El Reno and the Tribes
Israelite
I’m glad he’s doin fine
Get up in the morning, slaving for bread, sir
So that every mouth can be fed
Poor me Israelites, ah

Get up in the morning, slaving for bread, sir
So that every mouth can be fed
Poor me Israelite

My wife and my kids, they packed up and leave me
Darling, she said, I was yours to be seen
Poor me Israelites

Shirt them a-tear up, trousers is gone
I don't want to end up like Bonnie and Clyde
Poor me Israelites

After a storm there must be a calm
They catch me in the farm
You sound your alarm
Poor me Israelites

I said I get up in the morning, slaving for bread, sir
So that every mouth can be fed
Poor me Israelites

I said my wife and my kids, they are packed up and leave me
Darling, she said, I was yours to be seen
Poor me Israelites

Look me shirts them a-tear up, trousers are gone
I don't want to end up like Bonnie and Clyde
Poor me Israelites

After a storm there must be a calm
They catch me in the farm
You sound your alarm
Poor me Israelites
Poor me Israelites, poor me Israelites, poor me Israelites

2023 fajne
Timeless classic from the music giants of my little island ??
Still here in 2023!!
Love it for a long time now!!!
????
I heard this for the first time in 1968! GREAT song! 68 also had Whiter Shade of Pale! 68 and 69 had best music!
Skinheads..
I think he, in his struggles invokes "Israelites" for strength to carry on
Another one of those songs that now sticks in my melon.
Muy chula ???
Funny aint it. Europeans who pretty much all embraced uniformed ranting bullys in the 1930's never give the UK credit for being the first white country to love bluebeat/ska and reggae.
When I hear this song it takes me back to the early 90's when I was a child and brings back happy memories with my mum
This is my jam?
