Shame - Gone Fisting EP

Review by Joe Greenwood

Gone Fisting, the latest album by Shame, is a raw and unapologetic offering that showcases the band's signature punk sound. The album is a chaotic blend of frenzied guitar riffs, pounding drums, and lead singer Charlie Steen's distinctive vocals, which range from snarling to vulnerable.

From the opening track, "Alphabet," Shame sets the tone for the album with its explosive energy and politically charged lyrics. "March Day" and "Born in Luton" continue the theme of social commentary, while "Snow Day" and "Human, for a Minute" offer a more introspective look at the human condition.

The album's standout track is undoubtedly "Nigel Hitter," which features a driving bassline and Steen's urgent vocals. The song's chorus of "I'm a five-star lover, I'm a five-star man" is sure to become a fan favorite at live shows.

Notes

  • Self-Released Demo CDR. Released in 2014.
  • Between 10 & 30 copies exist. Copies were made after they were advertised on a short promo documentary that was shot by Dunraven Media in 2015. They were then sold or given at gigs in order to build a fan base. They eventually scrapped these once they produced better sounding material. Some songs such as One Rizla, Furry Freaks, & Gone Fisting were re-recorded during the sessions for Songs Of Praise. One Rizla & Gone Fisting were officially released, while Furry Freaks was recorded but ultimately scrapped.
  • Self Released demo from 2014. Verified by band member to exist digitally, however CDR copies may exist.

Well... That was fucking shit...
Hey there, I know it's a couple years late, but would you by any chance have the recorded version of this from their Soundcloud? Whatever links they had to it are dead now. I'm a big fan of these guys based on the few songs they have out. Would love to hear some of the older stuff. Thanks in advance.
