Richard Lowe - Lakeside

Pushing the boundaries of electronic music with his World Class DJ sets and consistently outstanding productions, signed to some of the worlds biggest record labels, Richard Lowe is swiftly becoming a major player in the trance scene. Over the past two years, he has firmly cemented his place in the music industry with four releases on Paul van Dyks VANDIT Records, three guest-mixes on VONYC Sessions and in 2017 his collaboration with trance legend, David Forbes, held the number 2 spot on the Beatport Top 100 for four days. In 2016 he made his debut on the World Stage at Ultra Music Festival in Croatia  one of only four Irish artists ever to do so! Hes now a regular name on the billing of the UK and Irelands biggest clubs and festivals, alongside trance heavyweights such as Ben Nicky, Marco V, Eddie Halliwell, Binary Finary, Judge Jules, Matt Hardwick, Timo Maas, Jordan Suckley, Full Tilt and many more. Over the past five years hes also become a familiar name on FM in Ireland, with regular guest spots on some of the countries biggest electronic music stations, including 2FM and Spin South West. Six months ago he launched his hugely successful bi-weekly residency on Groove City Radio in Scotland, broadcasting Green Code Radio, to a DAB and online audience of over 2 million people. Coming from a family of singers and musicians; his Dad a piper and the drummer in a local pipe band, Richard Lowes passion for music was in his blood from the start. Growing up in the nineties, the explosion of the European dance scene was a major influence on his tastes, with artists such as Carl Cox, Judge Jules and The Prodigy playing a key role in his musical development, but it wasnt until he heard Paul van Dyks For an Angel in 1998, that his love for trance music was sealed. Classically trained in piano and music theory from an early age, he then chose to focus his efforts into creating electronic music, studying music production at the Sound Training Centre in Dublin and at the Viva School of Electronic Music in Limerick. He was also heavily influenced by DJ pals, Full Tilt (AKA Timmy & Tommy), and began making his own tracks at the Full Tilt Studios. So, after a decade of playing at raves and DJing at Irelands top commercial clubs, Richards producer career finally kicked off in 2011 when Scottish trance legend, David Forbes, took an interest in his music and signed his first track to Aria Digital. Since then, hes worked alongside some the biggest names in the industry including vocalists Deirdre McLaughlin and Karen Kelly. David Forbes has also become a good friend of Richards, helping him in the studio and collaborating with him on three out of his last eight releases. Richard continues to be inspired by Paul van Dyk, but his music is now also heavily influenced by the likes of Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, David Forbes, John OCallaghan, NU NRG, Solarstone, Cosmic Gate and Alex M.O.R.P.H.
