Review by Mind Powering

High All The Time A Gazelle, the latest album by Mad River, is a stunning piece of work that showcases the band's versatility and musical prowess. The album features a blend of different genres, including rock, folk, and psychedelia, which are seamlessly woven together to create a unique and engaging sound.

The opening track, "High All The Time," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its catchy melody and upbeat rhythm. The lyrics are introspective and reflective, touching on themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. The instrumentation is equally impressive, with intricate guitar riffs and dynamic drumming that keep the listener engaged throughout.

Other standout tracks on the album include "A Gazelle in the Sun," a hauntingly beautiful ballad that showcases the band's softer side, and "Ride the Wind," a high-energy rock anthem with a driving beat and infectious chorus.

Takes your breathe away, stunning track.
They look like a bunch of homeless bums on Skid Row!
May the power of H be everlasting.
shared the stage in SF with these guys..1968 we were all trippin. Took acid in 1986 to preserve the tape
been searching for this for many years... good...
back in cbgb in '75, musicians and fans talked about '60s records we had in common. this was one of them.
check out member vocalist Lawrence Hammond solo albums. Totally country, and good.
They pjayed the Sokol Hall in the Haight with Mount Rushmore....mid 60's,where are they now?
This iconic record was ( reportedly ) sped up during the recording process - probably during mastering. When the records were initially pressed, the band was dismayed at how
this "mistake" changed the sound of the entire1st record, but there was nothing to be done. The rest is history.... and as far as I know, none of the subsequent releases on vinyl or
CD were ever re-mastered to the correct speed. When listening to this first LP on Youtube, you can approximate the original tempo by going to the Settings>Playback Speed>
Custom> 0.90 ( or 0.95 ) and it will slow down the playback tempo by just enough so you can really make out the individual instruments. Mad River ( '68) is still one of my all-time
favorite early psychedelic records... even with the mistakenly jacked-up, bizarro speed freak tracks on the original recording...

wow wow aint heard this tor years,6tees loved the trip weird memories cant believe i'm still rocking.
They were so ahead of their time. I still play their 2 LP's regularly. The vocals, the lyrics, the guitar: it's a shame that they were not better known. Maybe with the internet their time will come, albeit 40+ years too late.
I feel truly blessed then, since I found this in a booth at an "antique mall" for $2.
The jacket is showing it's seen better days, but still good, and sounds pretty good too, after I cleaned it. It's a keeper for sure.
really strong lyrics:)
Holy hell... this is amazing.
