The Racky Thomas Band's latest album, "Goin Home," is a masterful tribute to the classic blues sound. From the opening track "Highway 99," the listener is transported to a world of gritty guitar riffs, soulful harmonica solos, and Thomas' powerful vocals.
The album features a mix of original compositions and covers of classic blues tunes. Each track is expertly crafted and showcases the band's impressive musicianship. "My Dog Can't Bark" is a standout track with its catchy chorus and bluesy guitar work.
Thomas' vocals are particularly impressive on the album's title track, where he sings with a raw emotion that perfectly captures the longing for home. The band's cover of "St. James Infirmary" is another highlight, with its haunting melody and moody instrumentation.

Notes
For almost two decades Racky Thomas has made some of the finest traditional blues records in the modern West Coast style. His strong & unaffected vocals and sturdy harp playing always shows the mark of a deep listener and original interpreter. Over the past couple releases he has moved towards a broader blues sound with solo- duo and small band recordings. This set features some great covers of OTIS SPANN- CHARLIE PATTON- TOMMY JOHNSON as well as some great boogie duets with piano ace MATT McCABE.
